Hamburger Eyes Celebrates 25 Years of Documenting Everyday Life

Hamburger Eyes has spent 25 years turning ordinary life into an archive.

Founded in San Francisco in 2001, the photography publication is known for raw black-and-white images capturing everything from urban tension to humor and everyday moments. Over that time, it has produced more than 200 zines, magazines, and books.

Its anniversary exhibition, The Continuing Story of Life on Earth, is currently on view at the San Francisco Public Library, alongside a new retrospective book featuring work from 161 photographers.
