Advisry’s SS27 “AMERICA, STILL” Uses the 1970s to Reflect on America Now

Advisry is looking backward to make sense of America now.

Keith Herron’s “AMERICA, STILL” collection unfolds in three acts inspired by the 1970s, moving from distressed denim, trench coats, and leather into checkerboard tailoring, crocodile capelets, sequins, pearls, and metallic knits.

The show draws from figures and imagery including James Baldwin, Muhammad Ali, Malcolm X, and Taxi Driver, using fashion to examine the tension between national instability and cultural creativity.

The final looks move toward optimism, suggesting that Herron sees possibility inside the uncertainty.
